Stamford is toptastic!

Just back from a weekend visit to Stamford in Lincolnshire – absolutely loved it. Plenty to do: lovely architecture to admire on a stroll round town, some great homes, clothes and vintage boutiques, and the interiors and artefacts in Burghley House (www.burghley.co.uk) were simply stunning. Stayed at The William Cecil (www.thewilliamcecil.co.uk), which has just re-opened following a refurb; staff were impressive, room was comfortable, food was good and the pretty gardens led straight on to the parkland of Burghley – Henry, the mutt, was in heaven! Highly recommend a visit. I’ll be back – hopefully when’s it warmer & sunnier for a bit of punting on the river!
