The countdown has begun…

It hardly seems possible, but we are exactly three months’ away from Christmas.  I can’t begin to think about the gift shopping and card writing that needs to be done before then, but first of all there’s the work Christmas party to plan…

As a small business, I tend to organise a celebration with a few other like-minded people and companies locally.  Wary that we have all set aside different amounts for the event, I was really pleased to see that one of my clients, The Bristol Hotel, has had the foresight to offer a wide range of festive celebrations that cater to every budget.

Their Pre-Christmas, Post-Work Nibbles, with three canapés per person (including festive options such as turkey & cranberry pinwheels and warm mince pies) and a Christmas Cocktail cost just £10 per person in the Shore Cafe Bar.  The only condition for booking is a minimum of 10 people per party.

Their sit-down festive meals in The River Grille are also well-priced, with lunches costing £17.50 per person for two courses and £21.00 for three courses, including coffee and mince pies.  In addition, a complimentary Christmas cocktail is being offered to every member of the party, if they book for lunch between Monday and Thursday.

I have to admit Bristol is a little too far for me to go, given that I won’t be driving home from my Christmas event, but I’d heartily recommend it to anyone living in or around Bristol.

And for those of us who don’t, then there’s always the New Year’s Eve package to consider, which costs just £200 per couple and includes a sumptuous four-course dinner dance in the Ballroom, with superb entertainment from The Fabulous Lounge Swingers (a Rat Pack-style show with a modern twist) and a top DJ, as well as overnight accommodation in a double room, full English breakfast on New Year’s Day (served till noon) and a late check-out time of 3pm; complimentary Wi Fi and car parking come as standard.  At that price, it’s hard to resist!
